One of the most fun Kinect hacks we’ve seen in a while gives the idea of motion capture a whole new meaning. Behold the Board of Awesomeness, an all-terrain motorized longboard wired to a Kinect and a Samsung tablet running Windows 8. To roll ahead, the rider simply pushes his hand forward.
Spanish engineer crafts "world’s smallest" V-12 engine

Anyone who appreciates the precision art of engine design ought to get a kick out of this offering from a Spanish engineer named Patelo. Starting with hunks of aluminum, bronze and stainless steel, he spent over 1200 hours designing, milling, turning and drilling what he claims is "probably" the world’s smallest V12 engine.
Only in Africa: bicycle vs antelope

Johannesburg, South Africa — A video showing a South African mountain biker getting hit by an antelope.
Evan Van Der Spuy of Team Jeep South Africa is taken out by a Red Hartebees in a race at Albert Falls Dam. The video was captured on a Go Pro by teammate Travis Walker.
Despite the shocking collision between mountain biker and buck, both van der Spuy and the Red Hartebeest appear to emerge relatively intact.
Artist’s trike prints Chinese calligraphy on the ground, using water
Posted by: | CommentsWhen Canadian media artist Nicholas Hanna first moved to the Chinese city of Beijing, he was quite taken with the water calligraphy that he saw people creating in the parks. The art form consists of using a large brush to paint Chinese calligraphy on the road, in water, so the characters disappear as the water evaporates. Hanna decided to put his own spin on it, and rigged up a cargo tricycle with a computer-controlled dot matrix water release system, that squirts out passages of Chinese poetry on the road behind him as he rides.
