Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has warned the team not to underestimate Stuttgart.
Los Blancos are set to host Stuttgart at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first Champions League match of the 2024/25 season on Tuesday night, with the revamped UCL competition set to see teams play eight games before graduating in a league format to determine who advances to the next round.
In his pre-match press conference on Monday, the Spanish right-back said Los Blancos were determine to win but could not underestimate their German opponents.
“The first game in any competition is always important and we are looking forward to this competition with a new format,” Carvajal said.
“We also know how important it is for this club to play at home ยูฟ่าเบท. We want to play from the first minute and not give our opponents any chances.
“Stuttgart are a young and brave team, a team that likes to play with possession. They try to play deep and then change the pace of the game. We have to be careful not to fall into that trap. We have to be patient, careful, keep the ball away from the opponent and dominate the game. That will be the key.”
